habe mir heuet auf BBC1 das Spiel Deutschland - Tuerkei angeschaut. Die 4 englischen Kommentatoren waren grausam... daher meine email and die BBC, die ich hier
mit Euch teilen moechte:
I love watching BBC and i am thankful for their broadcast of the game. However, the constant criticism of the commentators towards Germany's poor game was simply awful (almost racist). Even my Turkish friend's were having a hard time understanding it. Yes, Germany didn't play great, point taken. Is it necessary to repeat that 27 times? "Germany played poorly, they had poor defense, they were too static, the are an ordinary team, they have been ordinary for the past 20 years..." and so on... you can't be serious? A team that scores 3 goals in the quarter finals and 3 goals in the semi finals is not all that bad.
May I remind the fellow English commentators that the English national team didn't even qualify for the Euro 2008? May I remind you that the Turkish team was very strong and that in a semi final you will quite often have tight games? Interestingly, the penalty which Germany was denied, wasn't even mentioned by the 4 commentators. How much more one sided can it get?
With all due respect but the commentators were much worse than the German team. I find it hard to believe that in the year 2008 a bunch of grown, educated men still have such a strong sentiment of hatred against a team of German players or Germany as a whole. I expect more from the BBC. Do me a favour and have those 4 guys watch their own commentating in a few days time.
